Inside the Denver Convention Center this week is Play Ball Park, a five-day-long baseball wonderland where an estimated 100,000 fans can take swings in the batting cages, scan the memorabilia booths, snap photos with a championship trophy and get inoculated against COVID-19.
CVS is operating a free walk-in clinic at the fan event through Tuesday. Vaccines are administered there by trained professionals in a private setting, according to Major League Baseball.

Twenty-five people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Denver County and there are 18 confirmed cases of the delta variant, according to the City and County of Denver. The city has seen 851 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
About 74% of Denver residents 12 years old and older have at least one dose of the vaccine and 68% are fully vaccinated, according to the city and county.
