Public health officials issued a warning Wednesday about dangerous algae blooms in Vancouver Lake, urging people to keep their pets out of the water and advising against swimming and all other recreation on the lake.
That includes motorized boats, kayaking, paddle-boarding, canoeing, water skiing and fishing in the lake, according to the announcement by Clark County Public Health.
Tests found elevated levels of cyanotoxins in the water with dangerous blooms present at the swim beach and other areas of the lake, health authorities said.
