A
new
study
in
the
journal
“Neurology”
says
a
change
in
diet
can
help
fight
off
dementia.
Researchers
say
even
if
you
are
in
your
late
50s
and
60s,
switching
to
a
plant-rich
diet
has
this
benefit.
Over
a
decade
—
people
in
the
study
who
cut
back
on
unhealthy
foods
saw
about
an
11%
drop
in
dementia
risk.
But
not
all
plant-based
diets
are
equal.
Diets
high
in
refined
grains,
added
sugars
and
ultra-processed
foods
were
linked
to
a
higher
risk
of
cognitive
decline.
Instead,
you
should
focus
on
whole
grains,
fruits,
vegetables
and
nuts.
