Pali Momi Medical Center Recognized by Healthgrades for Specialty Services

Date

Pali Momi Medical Center has achieved numerous accolades for clinical excellence from Healthgrades, a leading online platform that connects patients to doctors and hospitals across the nation.

Pali Momi earned five-star ratings for its treatment of heart failure and stroke. For the eighth year in a row (2018-2025), Pali Momi’s hip fracture treatment received a five-star rating. The medical center was also awarded five stars for spinal fusion surgery for the fourth straight year (2022-2025). Pali Momi also received a five-star distinction for outpatient back and neck surgery.

“Pali Momi Medical Center has been dedicated to serving the Central and West Oahu communities for 35 years,” David Underriner, CEO of Pali Momi, said. “Everyone at Pali Momi is committed to providing the best possible care, and they are well-deserving of these recognitions.”

As part of its 2025 hospital assessment, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine the top performers in specialty care.

Healthgrades’ 2025 analysis revealed that if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to five-star hospitals during the 2021-2023 study period, on average, 224,958 lives could potentially have been saved and 141,692 complications could potentially have been avoided.* From 2021-2023, patients having hip fracture treatment in hospitals with five stars had, on average, a 54.8% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated by hospitals with one star.* During that same time period, patients having spinal fusion procedures in hospitals with five stars had, on average, a 58% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated by hospitals with one star.*
