As more restaurants, bars and concert venues — not to mention employers  — begin requiring proof of vaccination against COVID-19, Coloradans have a few ways they can prove they’ve gotten their shots.

They can either show their official COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card — the one with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention logo on it — in person or via a photograph, or they can go the digital route.

The latter option includes either looking up their personal immunization record via the state’s web portal — or, more simply, by loading their verified state vaccination record onto the myColorado app on their phone.

The myColorado app already was available as a way to digitally store a person’s driver’s license. The Colorado State Patrol, liquor stores, title companies, and some bars and restaurants already accept driver’s licenses via the myColorado app. Now the smartphone app can help people store their COVID-19 vaccine records.

Here’s how to load COVID-19 vaccine records onto the myColorado app:

1. Download the myColorado app and have your Colorado driver’s license or ID ready to set up your account. Skip to step 3 if you already have an account.
2. Set up an account by scanning your driver’s license or ID with your smartphone’s camera. Create a username via a registration code.
3. Once you’re logged in, hit the “myVaccine Record” button on the main wallet page.
4. Review the myVaccine information and hit “Continue.”
5. Confirm your first name, last name, date of birth and gender.
6. Enter your phone number or email address.
7. Hit “Submit.”
8. The app says to allow up to 10 seconds for your record to load.
9. Your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card should appear, and you will have the ability to download it to your device.
