Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing Site at Fiesta Henderson to Close February 2; Texas Station Site to Operate Until February 20

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
January 31, 2022

LAS VEGAS — The last day of operations for the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site at Fiesta Henderson will be Wednesday, February 2, while the drive-thru site at Texas Station is scheduled to operate until February 20, officials announced.

The drive-thru operation at the Fiesta Henderson resort, located at 777 W. Lake Mead Parkway, operates five days a week, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday. The drive-thru site at Texas Station,

101 Texas Star Lane off Rancho Drive, currently operates 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Starting Wednesday, February 2, the new hours at the Texas Station site will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is scheduled to continue operating five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, until February 20.

Both drive-thru sites opened in early January and were scheduled to operate for three weeks in response to a surge in local testing demand following the holidays and as COVID-19 cases increased due to the Omicron variant. To date, the drive-thru sites at Texas Station and Fiesta Henderson have administered more than 27,300 tests. Appointments at these locations can be made at www.INeedaCOVID19Test.com or by calling 1-800-635-8611. The sites operate as a collaboration between Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District, the Nevada Division of Emergency Management, the Nevada National Guard, the cities of North Las Vegas and Henderson, the U.S.  Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and TrueNorth, a DHHS contractor.

The Texas and Fiesta Henderson drive-thru locations and other community partner  testing sites are listed on the Southern Nevada Health District COVID-19 website at www.snhd.info/covid-testing. Pharmacies and other sites offering testing can be found on the Nevada Response website at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/find-covid-19-testing-in-nevada/.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and shortness of breath. Those who experience symptoms are encouraged to get tested and to stay home if they are sick to limit community spread of the virus. COVID-19 vaccines remain the most effective measure to protect against serious illness, hospitalization and death. Health officials recommend that everyone 5 years and older get fully vaccinated, and everyone 16 and older who is vaccinated get a booster dose when eligible to protect themselves and others from the virus. More information about COVD-19 resources is available at www.SNHD.info/covid.

The Southern Nevada Health District serves as the local public health authority for Clark County, Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Mesquite and North Las Vegas. The agency safeguards the public health of the community’s residents and visitors through innovative programs, regulations, and initiatives focused on protecting and promoting their health and well-being. More information about the Health District, its programs, services, and the regulatory oversight it provides is available at www.SNHD.info.
