12-year-old Massachusetts boy and his dog spread word about heart health

A Massachusetts boy and his dog are on a mission to spread the word about American Heart Month. Jameson Gagnon, 12, of Abington, loves music and the rhythm of a heartbeat. “My dad had heart failure, and my Papa has a pacemaker but, most of all, my Grandma had a quadruple bypass,” Jameson said. All of that motivated him to take action. He has been raising awareness about heart health through videos featuring his family dog, Guinness.”I just made a new video about warning signs for a stroke. I also gave goodie bags out to my neighborhood and to my school, and I’m also collecting cans to recycle them for money, which also goes to the American Heart Association,” Jameson said. He has been recognized by the American Heart Association for his fundraising and advocacy efforts. “It’s amazing that he’s just so passionate about spreading out the word about how to be heart-healthy, and giving back to the community,” said Justin Gagnon, Jameson’s father. “It feels really rewarding that I’m actually getting somewhere, and doing good for people,” Jameson said.
